Create a shortcut icon on the Windows 95 desktop
1) Make sure the Windows 95 desktop screen is visible.
NOTE: Minimize any open applications, in order to view the desktop screen.
2) Click the right mouse button. (The Object menu appears.)
3) Select 'New' from the 'Object' menu. (A submenu appears.)
4) Select 'Shortcut' from the submenu. (The Create Shortcut dialog box appears.)
5) Enter the path and filename of the program for which to create a shortcut icon, in the 'Command Line' box.
NOTE: If the correct path is unknown, choose the 'Browse...' button to search for the desired file.
6) Choose the 'Next' button. (The Select a Title for the Program dialog box appears.)
7) Enter a name for the shortcut, or keep the highlighted name, in the 'Select a name for the shortcut' box.
8) Choose the 'Finish' button. (The shortcut icon appears on the desktop.)
NOTE: If the application has associated icons, the shortcut assumes the default icon.
